A Green Vision for a Great Neighborhood

The Exeter Gardens project is a community-led initiative to transform a derelict lot in Baltimore’s historical Jonestown neighborhood into a thriving urban food farm.

Like more than 24 million other Americans, the residents of Jonestown live in a “food desert” – a community where low-income families have little or no access to affordable, healthy food. Our goal is to make Exeter Gardens an oasis where families and friends are empowered to grow those healthy foods and demand healthier choices. In this way, we can leverage one small lot into a force for change that will inspire the community for generations to come.
